The West London Wildcats are an Australian rules football and netball club based in London, England. The club fields teams in each of the four AFL London divisions – Premiership, Conference (Men and Women) and Social. Both Men’s and Women’s teams are known as the West London Wildcats. The reserves team is known as the Shepherds Bush Raiders and wear a green and gold guernsey while the social team is known as the Ealing Emus and wear a black, red and yellow guernsey. The Wildcats are often regarded as the biggest and most successful Australian rule football club outside of Australia.
PREMIERSHIP – West London Wildcats
The Wildcats have won more premiership flags than any other club in London. It is a full 18 per side division with rules requiring plenty of participation by both British and Rest of World players.
CONFERENCE – Shepherds Bush Raiders
The Shepherds Bush Raiders were formed in 2000, and for the first year competed in the Premiership division of the then BARFL. While the Raiders did not qualify for finals, the season was a success for the new club.
In 2001, the Conference division was created, effectively a second division for the BARFL, and it was here that the Raiders thrived. The Raiders proceeded to win every premiership from 2001 to 2008, before falling agonizingly short in 2009.
In 2010 the Raiders returned to form, completing the season undefeated as Premiers and Champions. Since 2010, the club has added another five premierships to its history.
WOMEN’S CONFERENCE – west london wildcats
2017 will see the first Wildcats women’s team take the field in the inaugural women’s conference division. With the excitement around the club, the dedication of both players/committee and the appointment of one of the best coaches from Australia , it will hopefully be a successful year for the women! AFL London also has a premiership women’s division which has been running now since 2015.
SOCIAL – Ealing Emus
The Ealing Emus are the club’s social grade, playing in the AFL London Social Division. The Emu’s have taken home 3 flags since the division began in 2007.
